Hi All,

Here's another write up I did on some free seminars!

Oct. 3, 2017, Durham, NC - We would like to introduce a valuable part of the Click! Photography Festival, the Click! Academy. Special photography workshops and seminars are a big part of our festival and open to the public. For example, one of our seminars is by Mary Virginia Swanson on “Making and Marketing Art”. This seminar is in two parts on two consecutive days. The Thursday's session is themed “Market and the Marketplace” and the second day's seminar will be “Funding models for your Long-term project”. Click! is pleased to partner with Duke's MFA/EDA program, East Carolina University Art Department, and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro to offer this 2 part series of seminars on professional development.

Swanson is an author, educator, and advisor who helps the artist find the strength in their work. She helps photographers identify appreciative audiences and how to present their work in an informed professional manner. Swanson co-authored with Darius Himes the acclaimed Publish Your Photography Book: Revised & Updated (Princeton Architectural Press, 2014). Swanson is known for staying current in today’s diverse marketplace for photographs.

Thursday, Oct. 5th from 1-3pm with Q&A after, Swanson will talk about viable way to meet industry professionals that can make a difference in your career. Whether a fine print is shown in a museum or in a corporate office, reproduced as a book cover illustration or featured in product advertising, the value of that photograph is different for each buyer. In this seminar, Swanson will provide an overview of the opportunities for, and the value of, placing your work within today's diverse photography marketplace.

Friday, Oct. 6th from 1-3pm, Swanson will will describe the path to successful fundraising to support the completion and subsequent publication & exhibition of your photography projects. Ms. Swanson will share resources for fundraising and describe her research methodology to secure financial support for your photography project to reach the broadest possible audience.

Both of these extraordinary seminars are free to the public, but advanced registration is encouraged. The seminars will be held in the Full Frame Theater at the American Tobacco Campus, Durham, NC. For more information, the public can go to the Click! Photography Festival website here;
