Yeah, sure.....at first glance you'd probably pass this by. Heck you're probably ready to do that to this photo. That is one of the problems in today's digital age. People have been sensitized to react to only certain kinds of photos. Some examples, ones with lots of color or pretty butterflies or subject. With billions of photos out on the web, TV and in hard copy... people only take time to glimpse a photo. What if there was more to see than what a quick glimpse can give you. What if you took the time to look a little harder. The way I look at it...I think interesting things can sometimes be found.

I'm going to use this picture as an example. It's a picture I like, but many will not. Don't care, I'm posting it cause I personally like it. I see many things and relationships in this image. I decided to call it Mother Natures Collage. To me there are several things going on in here. First, the obvious, new life springing from old. I liked the pattern of the leaves in the frame. Just enough Green to give the eye a place to rest. Normally, I would think sticks running through my whole picture was a terrible look. However, these tree limbs were Red and Blue, they sort of framed the picture, they make a letter and add a second level to looking down. Not sure how they got their color, but then again....mother nature (with just an admitted little saturation). Turning up saturation to much could have started putting unwanted color in the dead leaves and flowers. Then there are the leaves themselves. Besides the interesting geometrical and abstract forms they make, the textures are interesting in themselves. Then there is the fun part for me, just like looking up at clouds, taking a closer look at the leaves' figures can start to look like faces, animals and things. Looking at the image in a small screen obviously makes this difficult to see. I will give an example, I see a bright punk rock hair-do on a guy that has a bird talking into his ear and just above him is a hillbilly. They are to the right of the middle green leaf towards the right edge on the lower part of the picture. The hillbilly has a hillbilly hat, a beard and shaggy bangs. Yeah yeah, yeah...I know what your saying. If I get enough request I'll post a close up of it so you can see for yourself. Each segment of the picture makes a new collage/abstract with new potential figures to discern. If you see anything yourself...please do tell!
